Why not go to Cape Town, South Africa? I went to Cape Town recently and it was fantastic! I used Drive Africa.co.za to get around, it was paradise!
The Kahala Hotel and Resort is a great hotel. However, it is no longer run by Mandarin Oriental. Just thought I’d mention it for those of you who couldn’t find it on the web. There new website is located here. One of the few resorts with dolphins in Hawaii.

Noosa is a great, family friendly beach location on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.

Australia is full of wonderful beaches from the north to south coast and east to west, but inevitably Australians themselves vacation / holiday on the Queensland Gold Coast. There are wonderful resorts, theme parks, manicured beaches and both surf and calm swimming options. There is also plenty o faccommodation on the Queensland Gold Coast to suit all budgets. There are so many really stunning places that it is hard to know where to start.
If I could give one recommendation, it would be for the Maldives, which are quite simply stunning, and have some of the nicest waters I’ve ever been to.
For low budget, have a look at Labuanbajo, on the far side of Indonesia. It’s a pain to get to, and not exactly four star as yet, but the beaches and the scuba diving are truely amazing.
I like the idea of going to the half moon beach in Cal. A nice quite place with lots of sun. Perfect.
I agree with Pete here, because Cape Town has some amazing beaches to the south like Camps bay and Simons Town (where you not only get beaches, but penguins) They are not built up and you can still find “mom and pop” hostels and B&Bs if you book ahead.
These are all wonderful idea’s for vacation destinations. Watch were you go in Jamaica though. Try to stay close to the tourist area’s.
