The capital of Milan, Lombardia, is nonetheless the core of haute couture and commerce.

If you take particular attention to the characteristics of wines, then the best place to go to is Piemonte. Activities to Get Busy with
The months of March up to May and from September up to November are the best durations to go to Italy. If you prefer to take a marvelous sight at the beaches, then you must schedule your visit in between the months of May down to September. Meanwhile, skiing adventures are mostly advised from January to March.
The Italian festivities are also very rich. As a Catholic nation, Italy almost fills its calendar with the principal spiritual festivities all year round. Among the eye-catching celebrations include the Christmas and Easter seasons. If you plan your Italian tour in the summer months, then you can grab the opportunity of being a part yourself of the local festivities, historic events, and the series of art festivals. The month of February is the celebration of the Carnevale.
The most authentic costumes are worn by the people who partake in such festivity. The Easter celebration is vividly given life by the Lo Scoppio del Carro with several fireworks displays to enjoy. In May, the festival of snakes is held. Likewise, the Verona Opera Season is much awaited from the middle part of June up to August for the most favored opera performances to marvel at.

Our island Lanzarote (the nearest to Africa from the Canary Islands in Spain) is also a very attractive family destination. Here, one of the aspects is the security, and other the touristic offer in thematic parks. The children loves to ride camels or have a look to real volcanoes craters. Lanzarote was always mainly a family destination.
Something worth mention are the Farmhouses in Italy. These tend to be different from villas and other vacation rentals. They tend to be eco-friendly and offer exciting opportunities to learn things anew, partake in unique experiences.
It is idea for the family, kids love nature but farmhouses offer you the choice also of utter tranquility (they tend to be away from busy tourist places)
When searching for a farmhouse to stay, here are a few tips:
1. Make sure it is not in the middle of nowhere, you want to be relative close to shops and ammenities. These tend to be a walking distance to some nearby village.
2. Find out more about the owner, send them a message and gage in their friendly approach. You want someone that is contactable in case of emergencies.
3. Pool is more than a luxury – it is a must (specially during hot summer). Some farmhouses are more in tune with nature though, the pool water is from natural springs. Pure mineral water.
4. Try to find out what extra activities they provide. Maybe cooking lessons? Or Painting? Some farmhouses provide you with an list of TO-DO’s, places to go, or even a map of nearby walking trail around the woods.
5. Some farmhouses provide fresh organic produce. Your diet will be much improved.
Those are some of the tips I can think of — I am trying to persuade all my friends to look out for farmhouses (agriturismo) when looking for a place to stay. When in doubt just type: “Farmhouses near Pisa” or (your town of choice) on search engines that ought to list a number of farmhouses or agriturismo portals ; you will be spoilt for choice.
I really hope the advice is usefull.
Italy has always been my dream destination. I want to go to Venice. I love Italian food and music and soccer. I have a picture of the city as my wallpapper of my computer at work.
What is the best time to go? Do you have any recommendations for hotels in Venice?

Italy is a lovely country so much history. I am currently traveling the UK and have been staying in Harrogate a small pretty town in the north of England. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet family holiday with lots of interesting history.

My parents first took us to Italy when I was 16 years old. We ended up staying in beautiful Venice. I had my first coffee there, a capuccino actually and dined on tea & pastries in a cafe on the Piazzo San Marco. The food in Italy was marvellous and everything we saw in Venice was beautiful. A country not to be missed
European countries have each their own beauty.
Two years ago I was in Italy: Florencia, Pisa, Siena, and Cinque Terre… it was really beautiful. I need to visit Rome and Venice!

Italy is also on the list of top destinations for both my wife and I. I agree with the other commenters that it is definitely that gives you a good romantic mood. We specifically want to travel to Rome and Tuscany as we want to see all the ruins and also experience all the good wine and vineyards. that would really be a dream vacation for us. Man do we have the travel bug. Great article. It’s getting me motivated to go travel some more.
I think will be next on my vacation place, i want to go see my family already.
I believe that Italy is a country with great heritage. Also your blog is quite informative. Thanks very much.
Visiting Italy is a dream of mine that one day will hopefully come true. I am currently saving, and if everything goes as planned, I will be there next year. Thanks for the helpful information.

also a very attractive family destination. Here, one of the aspects is the security, and other the touristic offer in thematic parks. The children loves to ride camels or have a look to real volcanoes craters. Lanzarote was always mainly a family destination.
I have traveled a lot. I have been in most European countries on “land vacation” and visited several Caribbean and Central American destinations on my cruises. Of course I have also traveled USA. Of all the placed I have been Lago de Garda in North Italy is my absolute favorite spot. I visited several time per year when I lived in Denmark. It was about a 24 hours drive, but it was worth the time. The views over the lake is stunning and there are so many charming small villages all the way around the lake. Nothing beats North Italy!
Bella Italia! I love this country and their inhabitans. They are very friendly and like to talk (sometimes alittle bit too much
) My favorit is the toscana in spring. At that time it is not so hot and nature grows in lovley colors. Besides French people the Italian people know how to eat. Ham, wine, pasta and cheese let you feel as you are in heaven
Yea I love this country
With me, Paris is the best choice! But Italy or London are so wonderfyl!
I have been to all areas of Italy and payed big bucks to travel through the cities and stay in high paying hotels that “yes” were very charming and accomidating. It never occurred to me that I could camp and save hundreds a day by doing so. I am thrilled to learn about this way of traveling Europe. I am going to try it out.
Good post, but in current reality with earthquake in Italy, I prefer to advice do not go there…
Oh yea I love Italy food and people fit perfect to me
Wine, cheese and ham with friendly Italian people, sunshine under Olvie trees. That´s the perfect place to relaxe.
Hi, I suggest you the mediterranean isles Sicily and Sardinia.
Italy has for everyone something:
If you are interested in history – Italy is full of history buildings of each age.
If you looking for good food – Italy provides for you lovley food
If you are looking for a quite journey I suggest the Toscana in April (when it is not so hot), you should also visit the springs there.
If you are looking for fun and action – well nearly whole Italy is the perfect place.
If …. I think the list is endless
Covering the entire Algarve coast -from Sagres to the Spanish border- Algarve Property World has the largest selection of Villa for sale in Algarve and Apartment for sale in Algarve. …
I know personally some people who are really Italy fans and these people have travelled over the world. They don’t care about Spain or Greece but they love Italy.
Italy is filled with small villages that preserve a great artistic heritage. Florence is the cradle of Renaissance, we all know it, but very few know that you can travel just 60 km and find Siena, a small village that’s a real medieval gem, or San Gimignano with its breath-taking towers.
When you are in Italy, take a look at the smallest villages other than the major art cities!
Jenny
First of all: compliments for this excellent article. Italy truly is a recommendable destination for a family vacation, and you enthusiasm in you article is just.
A tip: instead of booking a tour, I recommend searching for flights and hotels on the Internet, and travel by public transport or rental car. Rental cars are very cheap in Europe, and give you so much more freedom. To get the best deals on hotels, take you time, and check some of the smaller, lesser know hotel reservation sites. You’d be amazed how much cheaper they can be!
I recently spent a month in Firenze / Florence and had such an amazing time. Italy is my favourite country, with all the ‘F’s – Football, Fashion, Food… and fine ladies, haha. I went to learn some of the language, which is beautiful, but ended up touring around the city and visiting the amazing Cinque Terra, and art spots.
I really enjoyed reading this blog, along with all the comments posted on it. It was all very informative. I plan to take a trip shortly so I will put all of this information to good use. Thanks.
Italy is a really interesting place. There is so mucgh variety from city to city, and I went from being underwhelmed (albeit still happy I had the opportunity to see) by Rome, to really loving Florence and Venice and Tuscany. Agreed with the poster above. Italian ladies are very hot as well.
I´ll go to Italia on june. Be sure that I will use this info!
Italy is a wonderful place to be. Verona reminds the young tourists of paradise. Consider visiting Tuscany, Umbria or the Italian Lakes. If you prefer seascapes, try Liguria and the Cinque Terre. Great places.
Since I was a small child I spend many of my holidays in Italy. My impressions are that some Italian “hot spots” are loosing their flair because they are too much optimized for tourism. This you also can see when every year the price rise. So my recommandtions are to enjoy Italy in rural areas which Toskana or Sicilia provides. There you can find “affortable and charming holiday”.
Holidays in Europe are always special and there are great places to stay and so many things to see. The Hotels in Italy are great. Whatever your budget Italy hotels will fit within it! Great place wish I could go back.
I really liked your blog!
Italy is a fascinating state with historical cities, scenic countryside, mountains, nice-looking coast and art treasures.
Italy is a must-see country for most people. I plan on visiting there some day, but I think I would do it as part of a tour across Europe. Then if I enjoy it, I would return for more time to explore the area. I do love my Italian food and it sounds like there is plenty to see and do.
Italy has always been a dream vacation for me. One day, I hope to experience its wonders!
