Tuscan Farmhouses Says :
Something worth mention are the Farmhouses in Italy. These tend to be different from villas and other vacation rentals. They tend to be eco-friendly and offer exciting opportunities to learn things anew, partake in unique experiences.
It is idea for the family, kids love nature but farmhouses offer you the choice also of utter tranquility (they tend to be away from busy tourist places)
When searching for a farmhouse to stay, here are a few tips:
1. Make sure it is not in the middle of nowhere, you want to be relative close to shops and ammenities. These tend to be a walking distance to some nearby village.
2. Find out more about the owner, send them a message and gage in their friendly approach. You want someone that is contactable in case of emergencies.
3. Pool is more than a luxury - it is a must (specially during hot summer). Some farmhouses are more in tune with nature though, the pool water is from natural springs. Pure mineral water.
4. Try to find out what extra activities they provide. Maybe cooking lessons? Or Painting? Some farmhouses provide you with an list of TO-DO’s, places to go, or even a map of nearby walking trail around the woods.
5. Some farmhouses provide fresh organic produce. Your diet will be much improved.
Those are some of the tips I can think of — I am trying to persuade all my friends to look out for farmhouses (agriturismo) when looking for a place to stay. When in doubt just type: “Farmhouses near Pisa” or (your town of choice) on search engines that ought to list a number of farmhouses or agriturismo portals ; you will be spoilt for choice.
I really hope the advice is usefull.
