GREAT POST! We camp with our dog all the time, and are surprised at how many other dog owners just don't "get it". One thing I wanted to add for anyone who is camping near poison oak or ivy, is to KEEP YOUR DOG AWAY FROM IT!! If your dog runs through poison oak, the oils from the plant will stick to their fur. When you pet the dog, the oils will get on you...then you get poison oak. Our family is allergic to poison oak, so we're very watchful of this every time we camp. There's a ton of poison oak where we live in Northern California. Thanks!

I am sure that traveling with a dog would definitely be a huge fun and will be a adventurous task. You have also given the idea of which things you should be doing to do it safely without harming yourself and dog. It is indeed a amazing post indeed.

I certainly love my dog, and would enjoy it if travel plans allowed me to take her with me somewhere. Sounds great!

Would love to keep the dog nearby if I could. Always leash them for sure, it is just common courtesy to others for sure.

Great tips! We just took a trip throughout the west with our dog and she had a great time. I love the hotels with a doggie turndown service too - super cute!
