How to Learn about Paris
Paris is located on an island in Seine called Ile de la Cite. Lie de la Cite served as the headquarters for the Paris tribe during the 200 B.C., known as Lutetia.
The Roman Empire was attached with 2 wooden bridges crossing the river between the island to the river left and right. The bridges caught Julius Caesar attention, which he in turn brought it to the Romans attention. Julius Caesar explained how the Gallic War burned the bridges in the 52 B.C. and along with all the attractions in this town on the island in Seine called at this time Lutetia.
It took nearly a century to build Lutetia in a town. Only one thing, the island continued flooding so badly the water forced many of the people to move to the Left Bank of the river. More people were forced to move to safety, going to the surrounding hills when the Barbarians attacked in A.D. 200.
Over the next 50 years, the Christian communities moved in. During this time the city was blessed with it?s first bishop known as St. Denis around 250.

Backpacking Travel Tips
First and foremost, carefully and thoroughly plan your trips before you leave home. This step cannot be emphasized enough! Study maps and other sources of information to prepare for any physical or geographical roadblocks. Careful planning will help you achieve and maintain a healthy and positive attitude about the trip itself.
Next, determine what type of gear you will need to backpack. Beware of the “light gear” merchandise, as it may not always be the best purchasing option. Typically, you will also want to avoid any gear that is “all-in-one” as it may be bulky. Gear that is too large may become a safety concern as it makes people more at risk to falling down while too-small gear may compromise personal security. Give each piece of gear careful consideration and select something that feels safe and comfortable to you. More experienced backpackers generally progress to lighter and more efficient gear.
Adventure Travel in Peru – The Valley of the Volcanoes
I had been told that this road doesn’t exist either, but then a friend of mine, Marcio, who is a guide here, said there really is a road there. Now that I have my 4×4 van, we, along with Frank, who is doing research to update his Peru Travel Guidebook, decided to check it out and see if we could drive all the way to Chivay, at the entrance to Colca Canyon. We started in Arequipa on Friday morning, and on the way to Cotahuasi, we stopped at the Majes River Lodge, which is just a few minutes off the main road. They have a number of bungalows, a pool, outdoor eating areas, and very interestingly, a parking area that is in an old bull-fighting ring. Julio, the owner, is a major promoter of tourism in the area, and he took us to see a hillside that was covered with pre-Inca graves. Vandals and erosion have uncovered many of them and there are pieces of clothing, straw baskets, and pottery, as well as bones and even complete skulls laying all over the place. I have seen many gravesites here in Peru but none as extensive as this. Julio said there are thousands of graves, which I didn’t believe, until we saw them, they are everywhere. There are also dinosaur bones and petroglyphs but we didn’t take time to go see them.

If you live in the York area or are thinking of relocating there, there is an excellent new estate agent in the York area. Coalters is the “new kid on the block” amongst the many York estate agents. Like any good new enterprise, they are trying harder than the others to satisfy their customers. They must be doing something right, because their customer base is growing every day.

This free valuation is actually more than free, because you are offered large incentives for using Coalters as your estate agent.
This company is not just a sales agency. They are also arguably the most aggressive amongst York letting agents. Unlike many estate agencies that doing letting and renting as a minor side business, these are an integral and important part of their business. They will not just slap a picture of your home or unit on the wall and wait for someone to see it. They actively seek to match potential renters with appropriate premises for their needs.

Get a reverse mortgage and see the world
If you’re mature person and are a bit strapped for cash, especially to see the world in your retirement, but have a lot of money tied up in the equity of your home, a reverse mortgage could be the answer. This is where a company pays you a monthly allowance against the value of your home. You retain ownership and the loan is repayable should you move home or pass away.
Reverse mortgages can be really useful if you have put all of your cash into your home during your working years, have paid most of it off, but don’t really have any money to cover the “fun stuff” in your retirement. Many people have treated their homes as their default retirement fund, thinking that they will sell up, downsize and use the difference to fund their lifestyle. Reality is though, that refinancing (if that is what you would be required to do) may be harder than you expect in this economic climate, and also, many folks really don’t want to give up their home and have to go through all of the hassle of moving and distributing their excess belongings. Reverse mortgages are a good option to look into if this is the situation you find yourself in.
