This is a guest post from Rita Halow.

Last summer my husband and I went to Williamsburg, Virginia for vacation. Even though we had been to Williamsburg before, we were still excited to go back to Virginia. The morning of our vacation we got our bags together and set our adt new york wireless security system.

We actually enjoyed the six hour trip to Williamsburg. When we were driving to Virginia we couldn’t stop talking about all fun stuff we were going to do when we got there. I also took my portable DVD player and watched movies when my husband was driving.

After we got to our hotel and got settled, we decided to go to Colonial Williamsburg. This is a small town that is set up just like just like it was in the 18th century. No motor vehicles are allowed in the town. Horses and horse drawn carriage are the only form of transportation in the Colonial town.

Once we were in Colonial Williamsburg we decided to eat at one of the old taverns. The tavern was very cozy and lit with lanterns. After dinner we decided to go to merchant square before going to an evening program. Merchant square is a three block section of Colonial Williamsburg that is filled with modern shops. We spent most of our time just going in and out of shops looking around. There was one kitchen store that had delicious samples of pumpkin butter. After trying the pumpkin butter, we had to buy some of it to take home.

After shopping we went to an evening program is Colonial Williamsburg. The program was about a witch trial. It was a awesome program and we had a great evening.

We spent the rest of the week in Colonial Williamsburg having a great time. Each day we picked a different activity to do. One day we visited the old printing press. This is where they print newspapers just like they did in the 18th century. Another day we visited the brick maker’s shop. In this shop they dry brinks in the sun just like it was done so many years ago.
