Arthur here. I am just living the dream. I work as an underwater photographer. I have been visiting some of the Cayes off of Belize, the reefs off of Honduras , and visiting Scuba schools all over central America and selling my photographs to tourists. There is nothing else I could realistically see myself enjoying as much as this.

At present I find myself in a very exclusive resort hotel on CR’s pacific coast, feeling the same rush of excitement as I did last month when I pulled up into the Ritz-Carlton in South Beach. This place is called Sol Papagayo Resort. It’s spectacular. The flower arrangements in the lobby alone were enough to inspire the artist in me to break out the camara.

My deluxe pad is spacious and incredibly comfy. A slight breeze is coming in off the sea, beckoning me to delve into its’ depths. Today would be the perfect day for it, but, alas, I have other big plans. The staff at reception helped me find a tour through the rain forest canopy, ziplining in a local reserve. This will be a first, and I am excited to experience the immense biodiversity that such an ecosystem boasts.  Read more...

Plan to stay on Ambergris Caye as long as you possibly can. It still will not be long enough! The tropical breezes and warm, sunny beaches will wash all your cares away. There is so much to do. You can wind surf, para sail, and kayak. Ambergris also offers great scuba diving and snorkeling. Watch the sun rise, eat breakfast, and then explore the shopping in San Pedro. You can also take day trips to the mainland to see the Mayan ruins. Or maybe you’d like zip lining in the jungle.

Pack light. All you need is strong sunblock, mosquito repellent, shorts and tee shirts, extra swimsuits, sandals, walking shoes, and some money for souvenirs and to eat on. You can shop the stores in San Pedro or buy from the vendors on the beach. Handmade bead jewelry, weaving, and woodcarving can be found anywhere on Ambergris Caye. San Diego’s town of Encinitas has more than six miles of lovely beaches. Whether its swimming, surfing, boogie-boarding, reading books, running, jogging, playing volley ball or just loafing in the sun, Encinitas really does have it all.

If you like to work out, you’ll find what you’re looking for at Stone Steps Beach. You can run these stairs 5 times every morning and be in the best shape of your life. These steep stairs lead down from the top bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean and offer fantastic views to enjoy while you work out. At high tide the ocean comes right up to the bottom of the stairs. At low tides, the beach is wide and sandy.

Swami’s Surf Beach, made famous in California’s own Beach Boys Surfin USA, is only six blocks south of Moonlight Beach, either walking the beach or driving down old Highway 101. Swami’s draws the finest surfers in the world every day. You can often see people scuba diving and snorkeling just offshore from Swamis at the Encinitas Marine Life Refuge, an underwater preserve.  Read more...

If you are going to go to Miami Florida anytime we have to provide you this incredible list of things that you can do there. As you probably already know Mimai is one of the most attractive destinations to travelers in the world. There is so much to do that there would be no way to list all of the things you could do. Whenever you travel to this area you will have a great time. I just wrote this to help add some value to your trip.

#1 Miami Children’s Museum – What an experience for all ages. There are tours that are bilingual so everyone can enjoy them. They have educational classes and plenty of displays.

#2 Miami Art Museum – This includes incredible art from eras beginning as early as 1940. They have sculptures, paintings and photography.

#3 Vizcaya Museum and Gardens – This was the witiner retreat for John Deering back in 1914. The main house has been kept up and contains many of the original decoration pieces as well as the original furniture. They have 10 acres of gardens and restored buildings.  Read more...

Guardalavaca beach offers a perfect combination of fine sand and sea, marked by the neighborhood of the mountains and the green one of the vegetation; characterize its environment.

Traditions and legends attribute its name to the activity of the pirates in the region of the Caribbean, therefore was mentioned as the place preferred by the pirates to hide its booties (also called “cows”).

A more realistic story links the origins of Guardalavaca’s name to the warning that emitted the natives before the arrival of the looters that came from the sea, where the shout of “Guard the Cow” (Guardalavaca) notified to all of the danger that represented.  Read more...
