PostHeaderIcon Mexico: A Gay Friendly Destination In Your Own Back Yard

When people think of Mexico they tend to think of this country as traditional, macho and Catholic. Nothing is further from the truth. Just like everywhere else there are places where there is homosexuality in Mexico.

Civil unions between gays have been legalized in the northern border state of Coahuila and Mexico City. The states of Veracruz and Michoacan are on the verge of passing the same measures just like Jalisco, Colima, Puebla and Guerrero.

Still homosexual is still in the closet, many gays still maintain a macho facade and the lesbian’s are still mostly underground. This is even though Mexico is very liberal in attitude towards homosexuality.

In general, Mexicans are more private about their personal lives than are Americans. Mexico is a country which gladly welcomes vacationers gay and straight alike. Mexico is such a gay friendly country that Planetout named it the top destination for gay travel in 2007.

Jellyfish sting can be extremely painful and even life threatening depending on the species and any existing medical conditions. In most cases, the discomfort is the biggest concern and this can be alleviated by splashing or spraying with salt water or urine. However, you should avoid applying any pressure as this will aggravate the sting. However, be on guard and ready to seek professional medical advice if an accelerated pulse rate or any breathing difficulties develop.

PostHeaderIcon Photographing the Ocean

Arthur here. I am just living the dream. I work as an underwater photographer. I have been visiting some of the Cayes off of Belize, the reefs off of Honduras , and visiting Scuba schools all over central America and selling my photographs to tourists. There is nothing else I could realistically see myself enjoying as much as this.

At present I find myself in a very exclusive resort hotel on CR’s pacific coast, feeling the same rush of excitement as I did last month when I pulled up into the Ritz-Carlton in South Beach. This place is called Sol Papagayo Resort. It’s spectacular. The flower arrangements in the lobby alone were enough to inspire the artist in me to break out the camara.

My deluxe pad is spacious and incredibly comfy. A slight breeze is coming in off the sea, beckoning me to delve into its’ depths. Today would be the perfect day for it, but, alas, I have other big plans. The staff at reception helped me find a tour through the rain forest canopy, ziplining in a local reserve. This will be a first, and I am excited to experience the immense biodiversity that such an ecosystem boasts.
